Taylor Swift fans worldwide are on the edge of their seats, eagerly anticipating the release of her 11th studio album, “The Tortured Poets Department.” Spotify has caught on to the excitement and added a countdown timer to Swift’s artist page, ramping up the anticipation even more. Fans can’t wait to see what Swift has in store for them!
To find the release countdown, fans visiting Swift’s page on a desktop just need to scroll down to the bottom of the “Popular” section.
By clicking the link, fans can access the album’s prerelease page. There, they’ll see the album’s cover art and track listing, along with a countdown showing how much time is left until the album drops down to seconds. Additionally, there’s a button to save the album in advance.
The album has 16 songs listed. Seven are marked as explicit, and two feature other artists. The first song, “Fortnight,” features Post Malone, and the eighth track, “Florida!!!,” is a collaboration with Florence + the Machine.
Taylor Swift Announces New Album ‘Tortured Poets Department’ at Grammys 2024
Taylor Swift first announced the new album at the 2024 Grammys while accepting her award for Best Pop Vocal Album for Midnights, which came out in 2022.
She said at the awards show, “[The way I can celebrate] is by telling you a secret that I’ve been keeping from you for the past two years, which is that my brand new album comes out April 19. It’s called The Tortured Poets Department, and I’m going to go post the cover right now backstage.”
Alongside the standard version of the album teased by Spotify, Swift will release four bonus editions, each with one of four additional tracks: “The Manuscript,” “The Bolter,” “The Albatross,” and “The Black Dog.”
“I needed to make [TTPD],” Swift explained during her February 16 concert in Melbourne, Australia. “It was really a lifeline for me. It sort of reminded me of why songwriting is something that actually gets me through life, and I’ve never had an album where I’ve needed songwriting more than I needed it on Tortured Poets.”
Swift hasn’t said what inspired her album, but fans have ideas. Some think it’s about her breakup with Joe Alwyn. Alwyn, 33, mentioned a group chat with Paul Mescal and Andrew Scott called “The Tortured Man Club.”
Currently, Swift is taking a two-month break from her worldwide Eras Tour. She finished a series of six shows in Singapore earlier this month. She’ll be back with four shows in France starting May 9.
“The Tortured Poets Department” will be Swift’s first studio album since “Midnights” and is set to release on April 19. Catch up on the latest news by following Feedbinge.
