Ahead of the eagerly anticipated Met Gala this coming Monday, Jennifer Lopez is finalizing her wardrobe choices for the glamorous event.
The celebrated 54-year-old singer and actress shared insights into her preparation for what’s known as the biggest night in fashion in a newly released video on Vogue’s Instagram this past Wednesday, April 17.
Jennifer Lopez will shine not just as a guest but as a co-host alongside Anna Wintour. “When Anna [Wintour] calls you and asks you to co-host the Met Gala along with her it’s kinda the biggest night in fashion and to raise money for the museum, it was a real honour,” Lopez expressed, acknowledging the privilege of being chosen by Vogue’s esteemed editor-in-chief.
“It’s a nice thing to be a part of,” she added, reflecting on the significance of the event.
In a recent video, the star behind the hit ‘Rebound’ is seen pacing thoughtfully in front of an array of mannequins, each representing a potential look for the gala. With a radiant smile, Lopez shares her creative process: “I have a few different sketches. I’m still deciding. I’m also one of those people who chooses at the last minute. Like, I like choices, and then I go, ‘Okay, this is how I feel today,’ and then we try to kinda create some type of amazing look — ‘cause that is the night for looks!” Her approach is spontaneous yet deliberate, capturing the essence of the Met Gala’s celebration of fashion and innovation.
The caption accompanying the video highlights the anticipation, stating, “the first Monday in May is less than three weeks away!”
This annual gala takes place consistently on May’s first Monday and announced J. Lo as one of its four esteemed co-chairs in February.
Who Are the Co-Chairs of Met Gala 2024?
The big news is out for this year’s Met Gala. Stars will come together to celebrate the theme “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion” at The Metropolitan Museum of Art.
The museum has also revealed that Jennifer Lopez, along with Bad Bunny, Chris Hemsworth, Zendaya, and Anna Wintour, will be the co-chairs for this year’s Met Gala. This fancy event is held on the first Monday of May every year and it’s the start of The Costume Institute’s spring exhibition. For more information, subscribe to Feedbinge.
