Famous British singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran recently lit up Mumbai with an electrifying concert at the Mahalaxmi Race Course Grounds, captivating fans like he always does. This event is a highlight of his ongoing Asia and Europe Tour for the year 2024, marking his third visit to India since his last performance in 2017.
During the show, Sheeran delighted the audience by collaborating with several Indian artists, including a memorable duet with Diljit Dosanjh.
A video capturing their rendition of the Punjabi single ‘Lover’ quickly went on social media. Reflecting on the experience, Diljit shared his admiration for Sheeran’s stage presence, describing it as a privilege and a delightful opportunity. “It was wonderful performing with Ed Sheeran last evening. He truly knows how to work a crowd. He is such a giving artist, and sharing the stage with him was a real joy and an absolute honour. Whoever said language is a barrier needs to know that music is a language of its own.”

Fans who attended his concert were taken aback when Diljit Dosanjh joined him for his hit track ‘Lover’. In the footage, Diljit passionately performed ‘Lover’ while Sheeran strummed the chords on his guitar. It was an emotional moment for the audience, as this collaboration came as a delightful surprise. Together, the duo ignited the stage, drawing loud cheers from the ecstatic crowd.
Ed Sheeran made a memorable entrance to Mumbai for his highly anticipated performance over the weekend. He commenced his visit by engaging with local school children, treating them to renditions of his popular songs. Later, he shared moments with various Bollywood stars at exclusive gatherings.
The Thinking Out Loud singer wrote on his instagram, “”Got to bring out Diljit Dosanjh tonight in Mumbai and sing in Punjabi for the first time. I’ve had such an incredible time in India, more to come!”
In the meantime, Dosanjh shared the video with a caption that read, “Brother singing in Panjabi for the first time.” The two shared a heartwarming hug in the end.
As soon as Diljit posted the video, numerous fans and celebrities flooded the comment section with adoration for both artists.
