Brad Pitt has achieved another legal victory in his ongoing dispute with former partner Angelina Jolie regarding their vineyard in France.
The actor, renowned for his role in “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood,” is trying to nullify Jolie’s sale of her portion of the Chateau Miraval winery to Russian billionaire Yuri Shefler in 2021.
According to recent reports, Pitt secured a victory in a French court recently concerning documents taken during a raid by bailiffs.
This ruling marks the third legal setback for Shefler, who has been labeled a “bully” by Pitt, and Jolie in their ongoing feud dubbed the “War of the Rosé.”
A source close to Pitt commented, “Although there’s still a long legal battle ahead, Brad is currently gaining significant momentum. From the outset of this contentious bid for takeover, he made it clear he wouldn’t succumb to bullying – and he’s staying true to his word. He’s holding his position and will persist in doing what’s just.”
Brad Pitt Stands Firm as Legal Battle Escalates
The actor from “Fight Club” has remained firm and will persist in doing what he believes is right.
In a raid on the winery in March 2022, officials seized documents and computers related to allegations against Shefler’s company, Nouvel, for mishandling company assets. This was reported by the outlet, which cited court documents.
According to French law, companies involved in legal disputes can request evidence from the parties they are suing with the help of court-appointed officials.
However, the ruling allowing Shefler access to the seized items was later overturned by a different court, keeping the items sealed until further orders.
On Thursday, Judge Valerie Gerard prevented Shefler and Nouvel from accessing the raided materials. The judge stated that Nouvel, being an indirect shareholder, had no legal right to demand access to these documents, which are currently held by officials at Pitt’s French company, SA Chateau Miraval.
Furthermore, Nouvel was instructed by the judge to pay legal fees amounting to approximately $21,000, as reported by the outlet.
The documents will be returned to a secure location at Chateau Miraval, under the supervision of Pitt’s company, according to the outlet’s report.
Latest Updates in Angelina Jolie vs. Brad Pitt Legal Saga
The newest update in the case follows a few weeks after Jolie’s attempt to get the case thrown out by a Los Angeles Superior Court failed.
The legal fight has spread far and wide. In November, a court in Luxembourg limited Shefler’s control over some of his shares, making Pitt the main owner.
The famous actors, who won Oscars, got married at an estate in Provence, Southern France, in 2014. However, they separated in 2016. Since then, they’ve been caught up in legal battles over their money and who gets to keep their children. For the latest updates, follow Feedbinge.
